THE KRETZMANN SOCIETY – “A Legacy of Light”

Psalm 36 is beautiful.  Valpo takes its motto from the 9th verse: “In thy light, we see light.”  Through a Valpo education and faith experience, students are called to be, in the words of Jesus, “lights in this world.”  For many Valpo alumni, their legacy will be defined by being such a light for others.  Valpo remains a community that puts its faith on a light stand for all to see.

The Kretzmann Society recognizes those individuals who have made estate plans or established life-income gifts to benefit Valparaiso University.  Membership in the Kretzmann Society has no minimum gift level, as each commitment represents a lifetime commitment to Valpo – a legacy of light for future generations. Your future gift provides you the opportunity to support students in pursuit of a Valparaiso University education.

O.P. Kretzmann served Valparaiso University as its President from 1940-1968. We remember O.P. Kretzmann, not for what he accomplished or for the years of service, but because he was a light – a light that touched the hearts of many.

The generosity of our Kretzmann Society members helps our students lead lives of service and learning. Students become a light at this intersection of faith and learning.  We invite you to join other Valpo friends who have remembered their university in this special way.  If you have already made plans through your estate plan to support Valpo, please take a moment to share this by completing our online Kretzmann Society membership form below.  The impact of your gifts will be significant.  For this, we are very grateful.
