Razz Jenkins ’77 is a passionate advocate of Valparaiso University and has stayed connected as a member of the Valpo Alumni Network (VAN), the University Guild, and Sigma Pi fraternity. He is also a member of the Alumni Association and served on the search committee that hired President Mark Heckler.

As an engaged alumnus, Razz understands the value of giving back to Valpo. He and Patti, his wife of 34 years, have committed an estate gift and are members of the Kretzmann Society — which recognizes those who have made estate-plan gifts or established life-income gifts to Valpo.

“What I received from the University, the faculty, and the staff I could never repay. This is my small way of giving back,” Razz says of his unrestricted bequest to Valpo. “I want to support the general endowment since needs change over time. Leaving your gift unrestricted implies trust in the institution and provides maximum flexibility and impact.”

Razz and Patti live in the suburbs of Chicago and enjoy traveling and helping others in their community. Now retired from his career in staff recruitment, Razz encourages other alumni to reflect on how they will give back to the University and establish their legacies that will forever impact Valpo students.
